About Midnight Winds

The Midnight Winds is a Los Angeles based woodwind quintet.  Believing strongly in presenting new and rarely heard works, they frequently feature premieres as a major part of their concerts.  Midnight Winds served as quintet-in-residence for Chamber Music Sedona in 2006 and most recently completed a 10-day tour of Poland where they presented several premiers.  They maintain a strong relationship with the Polish Consulate of Los Angeles and the Polish Music Center at USC where they frequently collaborate with Polish artists and composers.  In collaboration with the Shumei Arts Council, they premiered a new commission by Emmy award winning composer Steve Cohn, a work written for the ensemble in Spring of 2008. Previous joint efforts include collaborations with Los Angeles ensembles such as Tonoi and Madeline Flash. Their diverse programming includes film scores, outreach programs, and countless premieres of local composers.

They were selected by Young Artist International, in conjunction with the City of Beverly Hills and Manhattan Beach, to appear in recital throughout Southern California in 2008.
