Composer Collaborations
AUSTIN WINTORY grew up in Denver and from the age of 10 was utterly addicted to film music. After teaching himself to compose, orchestrate and conduct in high school, he went on to study classically at NYU and USC. Following a whirlwind education in which he scored well over 100 student and small independent productions, he graduated and began working full-time in Los Angeles.
In 2007 he worked with Sony on a PlayStation3 game titled "flOw," for which he received a British Academy Awardnomination and many other game-industry accolades, including the Game Audio Network Guild's "Rookie of the Year."
Austin has also nearly twenty feature films, including Amin Matalqa's "Captain Abu Raed" (for which he won the Hollywood Music Award for "Best New Film Composer") and the upcoming psychological thriller "Grace," starring Jordan Ladd ("Cabin Fever," "Hostel II") and directed by Paul Solet. Other 2008 films include Alex Ranarivelo's "Knuckle Draggers," Ashley C. Beyer's "Print" and Rob Williams' "3-Day Weekend."
So far in 2009 Austin has completed the scores to "The River Why," "The Sunset Sky," "The Echo Game," and "Make the Yuletide Gay." Later in the year he is scheduled to re-team with both Paul Solet ("Grace") and Amin Matalqa ("Captain Abu Raed").
